Celebrity Status

Why is it every time something happens politically, Celebrities think it is their duty to come out and make commercials and stand on their soap boxes touting what they think we should do,  as though their opinions matter more than ours.
I see videos like this and I cringe a little.

Who are they to tell us what to do? I am sick of celebrities hiding behind body guards, the bars of their gated communities, creating videos and attending speaking events to tell us, like we are their little peasants, that we should call for gun control laws, or whatever political agenda they are serving at the time. The worst part about it is we let them get away with it, we let them make their heartwarming PSA videos telling us that Obama is like our daddy and we should trust that everything he does is right, as Chris Rock did recently.

Yet, when an actor like Bruce Willis comes out and says he does not support the gun bans or anything that would infringe on constitutional rights, you hardly hear about it. He doesn’t make a little video, he just says it. In an interview with the Associated Press Willis said ''If you take one out or change one law, then why wouldn't they take all your rights away from you?" He’s right you know?
Why don’t pro gun celebrities make videos calling for action? Why don’t they do speaking events? Probably because they aren’t little tools of the government and wouldn’t get any attention except to be called radicals if they did speak out.

Well, this is my call to action everyone. Here’s a list from the Gun Owners of America of all the singers and actors who support gun control. Let’s boycott them and put our support behind the artists who believe we should have our freedoms.

And here are some artists we should be supporting (can I just say, good job Chef Alton Brown!)

This one has some strong language so be forewarned!
